//Palm IS Dead, Android and Apple?
Somewhat similar to what popular tech enthusiast Kevin Rose claims (although he give several options as to what Palm can do to try and save themselves), I also believe that Palm is dead. It’s what Apple does to corporations and markets, they enter with a product that no other companies can compete with (the iPhone) and kill off the older brands because their companies are too slow to recognize the threat. Palm’s WebOS was an amazing operating system for the smartphone. It offered a nice interface, multitasking, and even came in a pretty concise package; but its lack of applications killed it prematurely. The only phone I can see myself getting the the future (Note: i have an iPhone now) is one of the Google Phones. Android’s market (vs. Apple’s App Store) has a decent amount of Apps that have what a smartphone user wants in todays market. The Nexus One, for example, destroys the iPhone when it comes to pure hardware aspects, yet the iPhone still holds the majority of the market purely because it was here before Android and it holds the Apple branding.
